Happy 10 Months, Tyler!

Tyler turned 10 months on Friday (seriously, where is the time going?!?).  I shared this picture on Facebook:

Here are some other shots from the day, as well as what he's up to these days.

Mobility:  He is a rockstar crawler, though he crawls to the beat of his own drum.  Because we have hardwoods, he's created his own crawl for better traction.  One leg is down like normal, the other moves along with only his foot touching.  It's hard to put in words, but 1) it's kinda funny looking and 2) it's whoa efficient.  If we're not on top of things, he can bolt into another room in a matter of seconds!  He loves standing holding onto things (including his favorite "smack box," the wooden chest pictured here) and can stand for a few seconds on his own before grabbing hold again or slowly sinking back to the floor.  He can also "cruise" (walking while holding onto something).

Talking: He is the king of "Bah."  It's his favorite sound by far.  In fact, we play it up by singing "Old McDonald," where the farmer always has a sheep.  We try to get him to "baa" at the correct time.  He also does "dah" and "mahmah," but it doesn't seem to be connected to Jason and me.  He just says it.  I mean, sometimes he seems to be asking me where "dah" is, so I try to answer him, but other times he's just saying it.  He will sometimes say "bah" if we ask him to say "bear," and he's gotten where he consistently will say "duh" for his ducks at bathtime and "die die" when we ask him to say dinosaur.  Hey, I'm all for my kid liking dinosaurs, but Tyler, why don't we focus on saying "Mama" first?

Food/Sleep: He still eats quite a bit of cereal and baby food because homeboy still only has two teeth (ok, 2.25 since a top tooth is slowly coming in).  He looooooooves puffs (what little kid doesn't), "Cheetos" (like a kid version of cheese puffs, just way smaller and blander), steamed carrots, boiled potatoes, canned green beans, cantaloupe, and mandarin oranges.  So far, the only things he's not keen on are pancakes (what's wrong with my kid???), and peaches and sweet potatoes (though he loves the baby food version of both).

He loved the "game" I created where I hid puffs under his bowls.

Tyler is sleeping quite well through the night, though he's being more stubborn about actually going to bed.  Sunday night, he actually fell asleep at dinner (a first for him!), so we took him upstairs, changed him into his pjs and gave him his bedtime bottle.  Then, he wanted to be all awake!  Oh, son.  Don't you know Mama wanted to get back to her Hunger Games books?

That's about it, I guess.  Happy 10 months, little guy!
